Fiji is a small island but this is the first time MV Solar has done an installation on one of its many smaller islands, Vatulele. MV Solar Fiji technician Misa Driubalavu recalls the unforgettable trip to the island last March.
Vatulele island is located on the southern part of Fiji. It's a two-hour boat ride from the mainland. The small village consist of only 40 houses.
The installation began as soon as we arrived on the island. With my two helpers from the village we mounted the panel that afternoon and the system on the next day.
It was the first solar installation done in the island by MV SOLAR FIJI. Prior to our visit, the entire island ran on diesel generator, which started at 6pm to 9pm every night.
During the installation, most of the men from the village came to watch and to see the Ecoboxx and how it works. They said it was their first time to see a system like the Ecoboxx.
I then explained to them everything about our products, including the solar camp light. The villagers got interested in solar and ended up buying the solar camp lights.
After two days, I finally left Vatulele Island, excited for our customer and everyone who is about to generate free energy for their homes.
