MV Solar Rally Team Competes At Singleton Automotive Caves Classic Techworkz

The MV Solar Rally team went back to the dirt tracks and competed in the Singleton Automotive Caves Classic Techworkz near Oberon last weekend.

Driver Michael Valantine and Navigator Erin Valantine were seeded 16th in the Datsun 1600 and were keen to get the car on the course. Support crew for this outing were Dennis Valantine, Andrew Bacon, Kirk Bendall, Tim Valantine, Lois Valantine and Laura Valantine.

April 14, 2:06PM:

"The team are travelling nicely and at our last remote report were running 11th heading into SS4. As you can see everyone was happy and keen to get underway. Michael also provided Rally NSW with an interview, lucky he's not camera shy. Blair Pester from our new sponsor Winaico stopped by to say Hi as well."

April 15, 4:47AM:

"Well rally fans unfortunately the gutsy little 1600 was unable to complete the rally. After hitting a rock the car lost oil pressure and at the end of the stage the decision had to be made to retire due to a suspected broken oil pick up in the sump. Protecting the engine had to take precedence and on the trailer she went. At least Michael and Erin finished the day smiling and are already looking forward to the next round. Better luck next time guys!!!"
