  • Clean Energy Regulator released the list of Top 10 Solar-Friendly Postcodes in Australia. None from NSW made it to the list, but aerial imagery company Nearmap used data from CEC to come up with a Top 5 solar-friendly postcodes in NSW

  • Almost half of Australian big businesses are moving to renewable energy, according to a recent report from The Climate Council. Continuous upward surge of electricity prices have prompted many businesses -- including 46% of large operations to look for energy alternatives. In less than two years, the capacity for Australian businesses to generate their own power through solar has doubled.

  • Australians who are unable to install solar panels will be able to do so soon with help from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA). The organization is set to provide funding for trials of "solar gardens" -- small-scale solar farms where people can buy or rent solar panels. Trials are set to carried out for low-income households and renters in Blacktown, Shoalhaven and Byron Bay in NSW, among others.
